User Guide Every feature, explained in plain English.

This is the same guide built into phizie, for version 1.3.37.

phizie by PHIZIE brings the AI services you already use — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, and any other AI you use in a browser — into one organized workspace. You bring your own accounts; phizie adds organization, persistent isolated sign-ins, a local record of your work, and low resource use. phizie is not an AI service itself and is not affiliated with any AI company. © 2026 PHIZIE Inc. · phizie.com

First launch

The first time you open phizie, it walks you through two quick, one-time steps before the workspace opens:

  1. Accept the Terms. phizie shows the Terms of Service in a scrollable panel. I Agree stays disabled until you have scrolled to the bottom, so the whole document has been in front of you before you can accept (if the Terms fit on screen without scrolling, I Agree is available right away). Choose I Agree to continue, or Quit to close phizie.
  2. Activate your license. Enter your PHIZIE- license key (it looks like PHIZIE-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and choose Activate. Don't have your key? Use Recover my key… to have it emailed to you.

After that, phizie opens into the workspace and won't ask again on this computer. Upgrades install in place and keep your data, sign-ins, and activation — so you won't repeat these steps when you update. Managing your license later lives under About → Manage license… (see below).

AI tabs

New AI Tab (or Ctrl+T) opens an AI. Each tab has its own isolated browser profile — sign-ins never leak between AIs, and two tabs of the same AI are separate identities (e.g. "ChatGPT — Work" and "ChatGPT — Personal"). Right-click a tab in the sidebar to rename, bookmark, sleep, wake, deep-sleep, sign out, or close it. Sessions persist across restarts. Switch with Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+1…9; close with Ctrl+W; reload with Ctrl+R.

Add any AI you use in a browser — not just the built-in five. In the New AI Tab menu, choose Add an AI…, give it a name and its web address (e.g. ElevenLabs, Sync, or any https site), and it opens as its own tab with an isolated, signed-in session just like the built-ins. You sign in on the AI's own page; phizie never sees your password. Remove an added AI from its row in the same menu.

Sign-in

You always sign in on the AI's own pages (including Google/Microsoft/Apple sign-in popups and MFA). phizie never shows its own password form. The browser engine's password manager is on: passwords save and autofill and unlock with Windows Hello, just like Edge — kept encrypted in each AI's isolated profile, never shared between AIs, and phizie's own code never reads them. (It's a separate vault from Edge, so sign in once per AI and let it save. Prefer not to save? Use "Sign in with Google" or a passkey instead.)

Bookmarks — keep an AI a click away

A bookmark is a shortcut to an AI tab you want to reopen later without hunting for it — useful when you close tabs to declutter but want to come back to a specific AI, signed in and where you left off.

  • Add: right-click a tab → ☆ Bookmark this tab. The star fills in (★) to show it's bookmarked.
  • Reopen: click + New AI Tab → Bookmarks and choose it. It reopens on its same isolated profile, so you're still signed in. If that tab is already open, phizie just jumps to it — it never makes a duplicate.
  • Survives restarts: bookmarks are saved with your workspace.
  • Remove: right-click a bookmarked tab → ★ Remove bookmark. This removes only the shortcut — your tab, conversations, and sign-in are untouched.

Bookmarks are a workspace convenience only; they don't sync, share, or organize into folders.

The Active Chat indicator

Centered in the toolbar above the AI workspace, a green pill tells you which conversation you're working in right now — for example YOU'RE WORKING IN: LAUNCH PLAN. It always follows the active AI tab: switch from ChatGPT to Claude and it shows Claude's current conversation; switch back and the ChatGPT conversation returns. Hover it to see a long name in full.

Green means confirmed. The pill is green only when phizie has positively confirmed that conversation is what the AI is actually showing. If an AI falls back to its home page or a chat doesn't load, the green confirmation goes away — don't assume your intended conversation is active unless the pill says so. When phizie knows where you were but can't confirm you're still there, the pill turns into a quiet gray CONVERSATION NOT CONFIRMED — CLICK TO RETURN button: one click takes you back to your conversation. Claude Code sessions (claude.ai/code) count as conversations too, so the pill confirms green while you work in them.

The phizie bar & Prompt Commands

The top bar sends a prompt to the active AI — phizie places it in the AI's composer and you press Send. Store reusable prompts as !commands via the ! button: type !WTP fix the bug and phizie expands your stored prompt plus the trailing task. Ctrl+L focuses the bar.

Already have prompts somewhere? In the Prompt Commands manager, paste a list (a numbered list, bullets, headings, or "Label: prompt" lines) and phizie splits it into separate commands — you see the count before adding. You can also Import and Export your whole library as a file to back it up, move it to another PC, or share it. Existing commands are never overwritten; matching names are skipped.

Prompt Library

phizie comes with a built-in Prompt Library of ready-to-use prompts for everyday tasks — open it with the library button next to !. Start with phizie Essentials, or browse by what you want to do: Write, Plan, Research, Analyze, Brainstorm, Learn, Organize, Create. Search by keyword, and star the ones you like to find them under ★ Favorites.

Pick a prompt and choose Use this prompt to drop it into the active AI's composer, or Save a copy to My Prompts to keep your own editable version (the built-in prompts stay as they are, and phizie updates never touch the prompts you've made). Where prompts have blanks like [topic] or [audience], just fill in your details. The built-in prompts are written by PHIZIE; your own prompts are yours. Third-party notices are in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, installed alongside phizie.

Organization toolbar

Above the AI workspace: Search · Chapters · Markers · Pin · Files · Export · •••. This is phizie's local organization layer — it never modifies the AI's own interface.

Timeline

The rail beside the AI shows your conversation chronologically — date dividers, chapters (⌂), markers (🔖), the Pin (📍), and files (📄) — with authoritative timestamps from your system clock. Each message row carries a one-line preview ("You: draft the launch plan…") so the rail stays scannable. Click a landmark to jump to it in phizie's record. Right-click the timeline to search everything phizie has indexed, including archived work, without waking any AI. The timeline hides while the Control Center is open and returns when it closes.

Chapters, Pin, Markers

Chapters organize a long conversation (they don't start a new the AI's chat). Create one from any message (⌂ on the message) or use Suggest chapters — phizie proposes boundaries at long session breaks and you approve before anything is created. Pin (📍) marks your one current location — setting it elsewhere moves it. Markers (🔖) are unlimited named bookmarks inside a conversation ("Pricing decision", "Logo approval"). These are different from tab bookmarks (above), which reopen a whole AI tab.

Files

phizie indexes metadata for files you upload and download in AI conversations (name, type, time, AI, chapter, direction — never the contents). The Files finder answers "I sent an AI a file but can't remember where": tick one or more type checkboxes (Images · Documents · Text…) to browse by type with no name at all, narrow to a single AI, or search by name — then Go to conversation, Open, or Save a copy. You can also drag files from Explorer onto the AI — phizie stages them with the AI's own attach button, and you press Send.

Folders & Archive

••• → Folders & archive: nested personal folders holding your conversations from any AI. Each conversation shows a colored AI badge for the service it came from, and an All AIs filter narrows the list to one. Search everywhere can be scoped to a single AI the same way. Archive hides a conversation from the active view while keeping its place and its searchability — Show archived reveals it right where you filed it.

Read-only history

Open any indexed conversation's record without waking a browser tab — timestamps, chapters, markers, files, and search all work from the local index. "Open at AI" reattaches a live tab.

Continuous Chat

Long conversations are normal in phizie. As one grows, phizie quietly preserves it — you'll see Continuous Chat ✓ · Segment N in the conversation panel, and nothing interrupts your work. Whenever you choose, Continue in a fresh chat starts a fresh chat on the AI's own site with your context carried forward (title, chapters, pins/markers, recent exchange). You review the package in the composer and press Send.

Context packages

"I know I discussed this in another chat" → find it (search or Files), then ••• → Create context package: a compact Markdown briefing with provenance, key locations, content, and file references. Copy it anywhere, or stage it directly with your current AI.

Terminal & Codex

phizie includes two optional local tools on the organization toolbar (they are tools, not AIs). Click Terminal to open or focus a real terminal in a tab; click Codex to open or focus a Codex session. The + beside each opens another. Both keep their session when you switch tabs.

Terminal history is remembered. When you close a Terminal tab and reopen it — or restart phizie — your previous output is restored above a fresh, live shell, under a clear -- restored history above; new session below -- line. The restored text is just your scrollback for reference; the shell itself is genuinely new. This history is kept locally on your computer only — nothing about your terminal is uploaded.

Sleep & resources

phizie's lightness comes from sleeping what you're not using. Each AI tab has three resource levels, set per tab from its right-click menu (auto-sleep also steps tabs down for you):

  • Awake — active and fully loaded.
  • Sleep — suspended; wakes instantly. Inactive AIs sleep automatically (the Control Center sets the pace: Light / Balanced / Performance / Custom), and Sleep All Tabs does it on demand.
  • Deep sleep — releases the AI's browser entirely to free the most RAM; waking reloads it, normally still signed in.

Waking restores your session. The sidebar shows phizie's real RAM/CPU. (Terminal and Codex are live local tools, so they don't deep-sleep — closing them ends their session.)

Control Center

Open the Control Center with the gear button at the upper right of the top bar (next to the ! button). It slides in on the right with phizie's settings: appearance (System/Light/Dark), resource mode, auto-sleep, session protection (per-AI sign-out and clear-all), and privacy status.

It's designed to get out of your way: shortly after your pointer leaves the panel, it collapses on its own and your AI workspace reflows to full width. Want it to stay? Click the padlock at the top of the panel — a locked Control Center stays mounted until you unlock it or close it with the gear, and the lock choice persists across restarts. Reopen it any time with the same gear button.

The Control Center and the Timeline share the right-hand side: while the Control Center is mounted the Timeline steps aside, and the moment it collapses the Timeline returns. Nothing is lost either way.

Managing your license

Your license lets you run phizie on up to two of your own computers. Manage it from About → Manage license… (open About phizie from ••• or the About button, then click Manage license…):

  • See your status — license status, your key (masked), and Activated computers: N of 2.
  • Free a slot — to move phizie to a new computer, click Manage my computers, find one you no longer use, and choose Deactivate. This frees a slot; it never deletes your work or voids your license.
  • Recover a lost key — Recover my key… emails it to the address on file.
  • Activate — on a computer that isn't activated yet, the same panel offers Activate… for your PHIZIE- key.

Activation is one time per computer with unlimited use — no subscription, nothing to renew — and works offline once a computer is activated.

Privacy & security

Everything phizie indexes lives on your machine under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Wing (a folder on your own PC; it keeps its original technical name so upgrades keep every session and record, and you never need to open it) — nothing is uploaded, there is no telemetry and no advertising. Your license activation contacts PHIZIE's licensing service only to register or manage a computer, and carries no conversation content. The AI services keep only the session data they legitimately need, in isolated per-AI profiles. External links open in your default browser, outside phizie's signed-in space. Downloads are always deliberate.

If something goes wrong

phizie recovers its workspace after a crash or restart — tabs, names, order, bookmarks, and sessions come back. If a chat fails to load, phizie quietly retries it and keeps your place: recovery returns to the conversation you were in — landing on the latest message, never the top and never the AI's home page (the gray click to return pill is always a second way back). If you start scrolling while a page is still loading, phizie yields immediately and keeps your new position. A misbehaving AI page shows Needs attention with a one-click reload that doesn't touch other tabs, plus a Send a report to PHIZIE link. To report a bug or share an idea any time, use ••• → Send feedback…: pick Issue or Creative idea, type your note, and phizie opens your email app with the message — and your build & diagnostics (never chat content) — ready to send to PHIZIE. Nothing is sent automatically; you press Send. %LOCALAPPDATA%\Wing\phizie.log holds local diagnostics (the folder keeps its original name so upgrades preserve your sessions and records).
